Tungsten Ore

Tungsten Ore

Specification Chart
Name of the ORE Tungsten Ore
Chemical & Physical Specifications
Manganese 9.06 %
Iron 9.21 %
Tungsten 60.63 %
Oxygen 21.10 %
Appearance
Color Black to grey or brown
Luster Submetallic to resinous
Transparency Crystals are translucent to opaque
Crystal System Monoclinic; 2/m
Crystal Habits Include the flat, heavily modified, tabular crystals. The crystals are elongated along the c axis and are generally flattened in the a axis direction. Also as columnar aggregates and lamellar masses.
Cleavage is perfect in one direction parallel to the a and c axes
Fracture Uneven
Hardness 4 - 4.5
Specific Gravity Approximately 7.0 - 7.5 (heavy even for metallic minerals)
Streak Brown to black

Zinc Ore

Zinc Ore

Specification Chart
Name of the ORE Zinc Ore
It's Types Sphalerite
Chemical Name Zinc Iron Sulphide
Chemical Formula (Zn, Fe)S
Chemical & Physical Specifications
ZN: 48.05%
Pb :4.14%
Fe: 8.89%
Ag: 0.004%
Appearance
Color Typically black but can be brown, yellow, reddish, green, and less commonly white or colorless
Luster Adamantine or resinous or submetallic to earthy in massive forms
Transparency Crystals are transparent to translucent
Crystal System Isometric; bar 4 3m

Crystal Habits
Can be complicated with the rhombic dodecahedron, tetrahedron and combinations of these having cubic and tristetrahedron faces giving the crystals multiple faces of often indistinct forms. Cleavage is perfect in six directions forming dodecahedrons
Fracture Conchoidal, but rarely seen because of frequent cleavage
Hardness 3.5-4
Specific Gravity Approximately 4.0 (heavier than average, but light when compared to most metallic minerals)
Streak Yellow to light brown

Manganese Ore

Manganese Ore

Specification Chart
Name of the ORE Manganese Ore
It's Types -
Chemical Name Manganese Oxide
Chemical Formula (Mn+2)(Mn+3)2O4
Chemical & Physical Specifications
Mn: 45 % (min) Bao: 0.059% (max)
Al203: 7.71% (max) P: 0.079% (max)
SiO2: 11.08% (max) S: 0.016% (max)
Appearance
Color Dark brown or black
Luster Submetallic to metallic
Transparency Crystals are opaque
Crystal System Tetragonal; 4/m 2/m 2/m
Crystal Habits Include the pseudo-octahedral tetragonal dipyramid. Minor pyramidal faces may truncate only the top and bottom points, giving evidence of its tetragonal symmetry instead of the isometric octahedron. Twinning is common and repeated.
Also granular and massive.
Cleavage Perfect in one direction, basal
Fracture Uneven
Hardness 5.5
Specific Gravity 4.8+ (average for metallic minerals)
Streak Brown
